How to get at the center console window switches
All,
I have a broken rear window switch in my center console of my '98 LSE. The service manual gives information on how to get to the switches on the SE but not on the LSE, which has a one piece wood top, rather than the (apparently) multiple piece rubber/plastic top described in the manual.
Anyone here know how to get at them? Thanks.

RE: How to get at the center console window switches
Get ready for a pain.
Take out the seat switches.
Inside the console theough the seat switch hole remove the four plastic nuts in the corners of the window switch bay.
Remove the transfer case **** and boot.
Take out the two screws up front underneath where the boot was.
Carefully pull the surfboard up and forward. There are four studs that the nuts were on that are barely held into the wood.
Good luck.

oops...take out the gear select bezel before removing the surfboard.
Alternatively, you could try to loosen the entire console by removing the xfer case boot and screws below, trim beze, and two screw under the arm rest in the console. Push the console forward a bit to clear the gear select bezel attachment pegs and lift the console up. If you have someone help you you may be able to get the switch out. It's probably a good idea to remove the seat switches before doing any of this.
Good luck.
