OK I have spent a bunch of time looking on line and searching forums, but I got lucky today at last.. I have been trying to pull my radio out of 2003 Disco so I could use the urban panzer's cb mounting idea. So to save some one else some of the frustration I endured I took some pictures to make it very understandable.

The first picture is the corner of the radio that slot allows you to release the tab

The second Picture is a close up of the locking part, slide your radio tool into slot till it stops then lift up on the back of the tool which will push the front of the tool down sliding the lock below the lip and allowing the radio to be pulled out the front.

The third picture is a over head view just for reference. Even with both tabs released the radio will be quite snugg so you may have to pull or try and wiggle the front piece to make the radio slide out...IT IS PLASTIC so be careful..

PS. A metal tab from a hanging file folder makes a good radio tool ( I got that idea from the forum).

or you could get a standard set of "keys" that they use at any stereo shop. Apply pressure inward on the keys and slide radio out. 10 seconds

 

Use standard keys. I was able to get mine out with with a the metal from a hanging file folder but they are sharp and I cut my hands up something awful before I even knew it.
