Life span of Magnecores?

I bought my 2003 in 2010. It had them when I got it. I have no idea how long they had been installed, but they had started to turn to dust, and multiple wires broke while I was removing them to check the spark plugs. I pulled them correctly, by the boot, and they still broke.
I think they are over-priced, over-hyped junk, and I personally will not buy them. I replaced them with whatever the cheapest thing British Pacific (now merged with Atlantic British) sold, and I never had any issues with misfires.

I have no idea how old mine were when I replaced them, but they had probably 50,000 miles. There were burn marks on a couple of them where they had arced. I replaced them as part of the process of trouble shooting a misfire. I wound up replacing spark plugs wires and coil packs. I used Magnacores again, but in the future I would go back with Kingsborne wires.

I had Kingsbornes in mine when I bought it and a few were ruined by heat after 40,000 miles or so. I bought another set because they are so inexpensive but I wouldn't count on getting much more than another 40,000. They are a good quality silicone too. They also sell insulating boots but a set of them costs almost as much as the wires. I may wrap the ends at the plugs with heat wrap to see if that helps at all.

Does anyone use Napa's (Belden) wires? I put MC's on old disco but I always felt like they were over priced. I've used Napa's wires on most of my cars in the past, with good luck and when needed they have had a no questions policy on the lifetime warranty. Just wondering if there's a reason NOT to use them on a Disco??
