i just want to double check before I go buy an a$$ load of gear oil. Any reason why I should not buy mobil 1 synthetic 75-90 gear oil rated GL-5? It is the same price as red line, but easy to get and right now there are coupons to advance so I could save some
major coin.

Also, what lube do you guys use for greasing various components ( and what components, I see people say slip shafts? But that doesn't even come up on a search in rave)? Mobil makes a synthetic one, too but idk if that is over kill. Edit: besides the u joints, OBVIOUSLY! :-)

Regarding the anti-freeze: Both my vehicles need a block heater to start in the winter. I believe its standard equipment on Canadian vehicles. The instructions for installation indicated lifting the front of the vehicle six to twelve inches when re-filling to reduce air locks. Seems to make a big difference and I've never noticed the same instructions in RAVE.

No offense - but there's not one thing on that site that is reasonably priced.

Y-Pipe and catalytic converters on landroverpartscenter.com = $2,413.00
Y-Pipe and catalytic converters on atlanticbritish.com = $549.95

I've found them cheaper than that though...

Not trying to be a d1ck. That's just one of the many things I compared prices with. They are not 'internet prices'... they're 'landrover prices'.

Hi jdhuegel1, I don't think you are anything bad. If you read my post I made it more than clear one should always do their homework to find the best deal. I check every vendor I can find before I make my decision. And the parts I did buy from them were the lowest price for the particular part(s) I could find at that time. You didn't quote my full post which is a trick a lot of politicians use to discredit there opponent when they can not compete with their own merits. You also used "The Land Rover Parts Center"'s MSRP price; not their discounted price. And of coarse a genuine Land Rover part (my post was perfectly clear said "GENUINE" PARTS which you also conveniently took out of context) will cost more than imitation made in Indonesia. If saving money is your first concern when it comes to your Rover that is your business. The remark you made about there not being anything on their site that is priced reasonably is a pretty broad statement. I try to keep my Rover as genuine as possible. I am not offended in the leased. BTW; sometimes their price is the lowest for a genuine Rover part; that's when I use them.

A 1590 code is on because your 3 Amigos is either on or has come and gone. If the 3 Amigos come and goes, you need to deal with the problem before they set a hard code and stay on cause it will cost you an easy $100 plus just to turn it off.
As for the 1590, it can't be cleared till you fix the brakes.
Shout if you want some help with this.
