my key wont turn in the ignition?
my key is giving me trouble...i cant turn the key to start the truck....its done this to me 3 times today....
the brake switch doesnt prevent me from turning the key right? and the shift lock works fine also when i can start the truck.....
do i need a new ignition switch from a donor car? i figured i's swap the switch tumbler and keys..put my transmitter in the pad and use my old keys as a spare for the door.
truck wouldnt know the difference....i can use the new key and my transmitter for power locks and my old key for the drivers door
i just wouldnt be able to unlock the door manually without my truck orginal key....
anyone have this happen? i searched on my cell phone but i didnt see anything...

For my D1 the problem started after some low life tried to steal the truck.
The Key would needed to be gimmied/wiggled for the tumblers to line up.
Tried graphite, etc. nojoy for over a year then my Indi fixed it right away with a shot of K-57 (i think that's wat's called) and no more problems (I hope I'n not jinxing it now)
For the Canadians, it's available from "Krown Rust Control" but "Home Hardware" carries K-54 that is the old formula but still good.
I'm not having any more problems with any locks and the handle of the tailgate.
