Default Ok dumb question.........

Changing the tranny oil this weekend, and the diff oil, transfer case and plugs.
1- Where the hell is the tranny dipstick and filler?
2- Anyone know if I run 140-80 gear oil in the diff and transfer case, is that going to be a problem when it hits -30 40 this winter?

And he said let there be a write up.

and it was good.

There is no dipstick or filler tube on your transmission sir.

As far as question two goes, she may feel a little down on power until the diff's heat up causing you to put more strain on your tranny, transfer case, diff, etc. So theoretically, over time, yea you could be doing a little more harm than good. Theoretically. imho, put what stock calls for.

wouldn't be a problem for my rover..cause it would be heading south with me in it

btw, no dipstick..you have to pump fluid into transmission pan

Use 80w-90 gear lube if it gets that cold, you may blow a diff if you dont.
