Default NooB - Oil Filter change question

I'm confused as to why RAVE says to disconnect the battery when changing oil filter. Anybody know why?

Land Rover mechanics charge by the hour, and disconnecting the battery adds to the total billable charge.

Anyway, that's my guess

^ That ^ ...and I'm sure it's a safety thing. Don't want to be under the truck in a shop spinning off the oil filter and have some dufus not notice you under there, and crank the starter.

It is a totally a safety thing, they say to do that for changing a light bulb too.

They don't really expect you to disconnect the battery they just mention it in order to cover their a$$ from a lawsuit.
