Default Oil filter question

Does a motorcraft FL1A fit a 00 disco. I have had good experience with those and saw somewhere that they might fit.

Yes you should be good to go with the FLA1, it does have the correct pressure relief psi.

Wix 51515 is actually a better filter, more pleats.

I went with the FL1A since both the filter and the oil were sold at Wally world. I went with the rotella 15w40 and seems to work really well. No knocks or leaks so I will see how it works long term.

I have one of these sent to my house every 3 months, its a wonderful filter. Really quality stuff.

I'd recommend to all Discovery owners to go out of their way for that filter.

Default says it wont fit???

I followed the link in the last post, and Amazon says it will not fit a D2... Why does it say this?

Because it's not a direct cross from the OE filter. The OE filter is short and crosses to a Wix 51608.
51608 - 4.338" tall
51515 - 5.178' tall
Other than that, they have the same specs

NAPA Gold 1515 is the same filter and about $6.50. I pay about $4.50 at a local heavy truck parts place, though I'm currently working my way through a case of Baldwin B2 (another excellent filter) I bought for $3.50 each.

So far so good. That rotella oil was definitely a great choice. Smoother ride at start up and warmed up.
