Default oil filter question

I'm confused, why does the k&n guide say to use 2001 and you guys say 3001?? Am I missing something here? Also 10/50w or 15/50w ? Its kinda hot down here during the summers ( GA)

thanks

The larger K&N filter is a 3001 and is the same price as the small one.Either a 10/40W or a 20/50W oil in a hot area is ood.
