Default Parking Brake Problem, etc

I apologize in advance for bringing this issue back to light. I have searched the forum and I have read anything associated with the parking brake.

Here's my problem. It seems to be a combined problem of several other posts.
Right rear brake has been dragging and Sunday evening it was very, very hot.(read a post about that) Parked the Landy. I went to move it yesterday evening and she would not move at all. The parking brake had been engaged and when released the cable would not slide.(read a post about that) After inspection. the cables coating has come off and when the Rover is running the cable will spark when the lever is moved. (read a post about that) I have the rave and have read about adjustment of the cable. My problem is I just cant find an illustration of where the cable enters the drum.

Is this a repair I should attempt or should I have someone drag her off for a repair? It seems as if I have a two fold problem. The brakes may need a good bleeding and the parking brake cable needs replacement and probably the shoes as well.

I thought the leaking sunroofs were my big problem until yesterday.

Thanks in advance.

Greg

correction you have a three fold problem:
"when the is running the cable will spark when the lever is moved."

check you engine grounds you are missing one, which is sending the ground thru the emergency brake cable.

You can confirm this by using a battery jumper cable to bridge between negative battery and the engine block.

I will check this. Will correcting this resolve the parking brake issue? I am guessing not.
