Default Remove vacuum line on intake

Hopefully someone can help me in removing the vacuum line to the brake booster from the upper intake manifold. It has a little red ring which feeds into the intake. I don't want to force it and break it. Once I get it out I should be able to remove the intake and complete the installation of new spark plug wires and valve cover gaskets.

I would really appreciate any help.

Replace the wires with out removing the intake, do you have secondary air, an emission device?

It's a push or pull release I think. I looked real quick in the RAVE but didn't see anything.

I do not have secondary air. I do however need to replace the valve cover gaskets which requires I remove the upper intake. I need to remove the brake booster vacuum line at the upper intake. It has a red ring and I don't want to force it.

Appreciate any help...

Mine pops out real easy. I think you just push in the red ring and pull the hose out. Don't force it because I'm not positive.

I found it in the RAVE (30-2-17). It just says to disconnect the line, but no instructions on how.

Jaysus that's exactly how it comes out. Counter-intuitive for an Irishman who goes thru life pullin' on ****. Thanks man...

Default Red ring

I was doing the sea foam cleaning for my 2000 disco II. After trying to snap the red ring back in, a peace snapped off. Now the vacuum tube is not air tight. Anybody know where I can get a replacement for the red ring? I went to the dealer and they said I had to replace a whole segment for $300 plus!!!

Thanks!

I had the same type of problem on one of my other vehicles what i did was tap the manifold and installed a brass ****** fitting that you can get a HD and just push the vacuum line over the barbs and it locks in place. hope it helps, a lot cheaper than $300 too.
