Default Spare Part/Tool Trail Kit

I wanted to put together a spare part/Tool kit and wanted everyone's opinion on what I should get for it. My plan is to put together a kit of Spare parts and tools for when I am off-roading or on a road trip.

If you have ever been on the trail or the road and had something go wrong that you could have fixed fairly easy if you had the part or tool I want to hear about it.

Parts:
Serpantine Belt, Fuses, Radiator Hose Repair Kit, Hose clamps, Electrical Wiring and connectors, tire patch/plug kit, Battery Cable, Dual Car Battery setup (or extra Battery), light bulbs, Crank Position Sensor, Extra Spark plugs, An extra spark wire (the Longest one so it can reach to any Plug), Extra Vacuum line, MAF,....

Fluids:
Coolant 1gal, Water 5+gal, Oil 5qt, Power Steering fluid, Brake Fluid, small can of PB blaster and Brake cleaner,...

Tools:
Metric Tools (Wrenches and deep and Shallow Socket set), Repair Manual, Jumper Cables, Vise Grips, Diagnostic Scanner, Voltmeter, Channel Lock and Needle nose pliers, Crescent Wrench, Screw Driver set, Breaker Bar, Hammer, High Lift Jack, Flash Light (Extra Batteries), electrical/Duct tape, JB Metal and Plastic Weld, Zip Ties, Tow Straps, Tie down straps, Bungee Cords, Tie Wire, Siphon Pump, Shovel, Fire extinguisher, Map book, GPS, ...

Survival Gear:
Matches, Thermal blanket, Knife, Hatchet, Flares, Ready to eat meals, compass, whistle,....

This may seem like a lot of stuff (still more to Add) but with a roof rack and packed correctly I'm willing to bet there will be plenty of room to spare.

Just tow another disco behind you. Lol

I have water (drink and radiator), some food, metric tools wrenches and socket sets deep/short, wrenches etc, a repair guide, jumper cables, I need a thermal blanket and some other items.

On the short list: tow strap, spare spark plugs (3), crank position sensor, brake cleaner, small shovel.

It will be getting lifted and a smidge bigger tires soon and I'd like to do a roof rack.

The "Spare Disco Kit", nice. LOL

I know first hand about the crank sensor crapping out on the road and think thats probably a good part to have (Especially if you haven't replaced it yet).

I need to get a few more mechanical things fixed first, but when thats done I'm going to get a 2 or 3in lift. Have you decided on what size and brand you are going with?

Serpantine belt. Old hoses (in good condition). Snags like rubber things they can reach up and grab. AAA on speed dial. RAVE on USB drive and something to see it with, or on your smarty phone. Duct tape (holds thermal blanket over busted sunroof or window), etc. Small can of PB Blaster and brake parts cleaner (electrical connection cleanup). Vaseline. Consider if you have forded water, have to make repairs, then ford again to exit the play area. Map book, GPS batteries will die, get dropped, etc.

I carry a cheap socket set, a bag a spanners, a phillips and flathead screwdriver, matches, machete, 2 rain poncho's, recovery strap, first aid kit, roll of duct tape, rope and bungee cords.
I also have a 1/2" breaker bar as the tire tool and a claw hammer and Channel-Locks and car charger for my cell phone.
This is what is in my truck 100% of the time.
I also have a app on my phone that will give me the phone number to towing companies based on my current location.

I've gone through mine pretty thouroughly and still tinkering here and there are they that bad on the trail for breakage?
I'm mechanically inclined and don't fear working on something but I don't want to have anxiety every time I leave the road.

And to above I'm doing a 2" ome and 265x75x18 or close to that, I want a 31-32" equivelqnt but 9.5-10" width tops for mileage and flex.

I dont think they are that prone to trail breakage.
I have yet to ever break down to the point that I could not get her home, ever and I've driven over 58,000 miles with my girl.

I've had a wheel bearing go bad, drove it home.
I've had a alternator stop charging, twice.
Replaced once at mom's while on vacation, the other time replaced in a church parking lot at a music festival 1500 miles from home.

I'm not paranoid about my truck breaking down, I'm just a Boy Scout and try to always be prepared.

I am not saying that your Rover will fall apart off road by any means. Lets not forget what they are built to do. I am someone that just trys and be prepared for anything.

i have had my xyz fail 300 miles from my house,.. i destroyed my tranny ecu 100 miles from my house. both tripped me into limp mode. made it home. slowly but made it home.

i have a large set of tools and parts but you can't carry everything. just make sure you know how to properly access and diagnose everything. carry parts that are most prone to fail, cps, maf, etc..

go have fun.
