Have the head gaskets been done, and how many miles? Seems a little high, but at least much of the high mileage maint has been done already..

New water pump? Did the old one fail? If so, was it over heated?
Have the head gaskets been replaced? If so, when?
Is this at a dealer, or is it a private seller?
How many owners has the truck had?
Does the truck come with maintenance records?
Have you taken the truck to an independent Rover shop to be checked out?

The answers to all of the above questions directly impact how much you should pay...

If they have never been replaced they will need to be in the next few thousand miles. Occasionally owners will get 130k +, one of mine made it to 127500, the other one made it to 72,000. Do factor in $1500 +/- for the head gaskets. The $5000 truck just got a little less desireable. With that mileage and the fact that the head gaskets haven't been done, I would think that $4,000 might be more in line, even with all of the recent parts. Phil

i would pay $1500. and plan on doing the headgaskets.. will cost you $300 for all the parts or $1250 for an independent mechanic to do it, $3,000 for the dealer to do it.

best thing to do is get a pre purchase inspection. Once that is done you will have a pretty good, but not perfect, vision of what is coming down the pike. And the head gaskets are not currently a problem, correct. Phil
