Sweet, I'm sure I've seen that one around. Steelies and some badass tires as well.
Many people will say that the 1999 to mid 2001 discos are the best. Not as many engine problems and you have a transfer case with CDL. I would say go for it, haggle the price a bit.

Thanks!

What do you mean about "transfer case with CDL"?
Sorry I'm new with these!

CDL = central diff lock.
In offroading this gives you better traction in sticky situations. You need a lever to engage CDL from the cab, the LR idiots decided to leave that out and on later 2001 to 2003 models they left out the CDL as well. This is one of the first mods that most people do to their vehicles.
Check this page, remember you have CDL but need a lever...

In excellent condition it books for $3400 in good $3000

He's asking $5000, I explained the book value to him & he
said he doesn't want to let it go for that cheap. I think he
do $4,200.

What would be a fair price? Is $4,200 too high since it's over book value?
He said he won't do book since "book doesn't show market price".

- needs new charcole canister
- common 3 amigo lights not working
- Has roof rack he said it's $1,200 but it's not installed

So, how much would you guys offer? $$$

I would pay 4200. Those MT tires look new and are not cheap. And @ 5 tires your looking at least 700-800 bucks right there. Looks like he added a OME lift also. That thing has 15k miles less than my 99. Add the CDL (he might of already done it), hidden winch mount + winch and that thing is good to go!

Thank you sloan74

Where would this CDL lever be located, so I can determine if it has this mod done?

Is the lever inside the car? I checked the link above it looks like it maybe under the car...could someone clarify?

That really is a good but if you can get it for 42. Lift, tires/wheels, rack, and looks clean as a pin. And great color. See if he has the wheels and tires still that came off it and you can sell those.

Thumbs up

Nice looking truck. Check to see if the head gaskets have been replaced. Other common items that can end up costing you money are the front driveshaft, you need to get it rebuilt with new zerk fitted u-joints and a new centering ball. Water pump, radiator, hoses, plugs/wires, three amigos, couldn't tell, did you say that they are illuminated on the truck? other than that it looks pretty nice. The head gaskets are probably the biggest issue that you may be facing. That repair, along with parts and plugs, wires, etc, will run you from $1500 to $2000. Do it yourself and you are still looking at $700 to $800 in parts if you take care of all of the incidentals along the way. Truck looks nice. Good luck. By the way, the truck will have the center locking differential. There is a nut on the top of the transfer case above the front output shaft and slightly to the driver's side of front driveshaft. Rotating that nut 90 degrees with lock the CDL. Be sure not to drive on hard pavement with the CDL in the locked position. There is plenty to read on this forum regardind the CDL. Check out the 60k mile service listed above. That will take care of many service needs. It will set you back $400 in parts, more or less. Have fun and good luck. Phil
