I apologize for starting a new thread apart from the other tire threads but I have gone through countless and haven't come across a definite answer.
I am 18 years old and am going to school next year at uga which is 40 minutes away and will bring my disco back and forth home when I go home for breaks. I am just now getting my lift and tires ready to be put but really need help deciding tire size. The truck will be about 75/25 daily driving/off roading. I plan to get treadwright guard dogs e rating as this is the rating in the sizes I want. I want to do the least damage to mpg and low power issues that I can but also want a good tire able to handle anything. Im gonna install a Terrafirma 2 inch lift on very soon and need to know whether the 245 75 16 or the 265 75 16 would be better.
Thanks in advance for the help. I can always come to forum when my truck is in need

I'm calculating the mileage After I get my kingsborne 8 mm wires and Bosch +4 spark plugs this week. Before the wires id say somewhere between 11 and 12. Am I still gonna get the same performance out of the 245's? Also worried about a lot of rubbing?
Really appreciate your help!

I had 245's Bridgestone Dueler Revo II's
Now I have 265's Goodyear Duratracs
I have a 2" OME lift with f/r steel bumpers.
I consistently get 14mpg hwy if I stay at 70mph
With 265's you will feel less HP and torque. If you go 265, you will want to consider 4:11 gears if you care about getting your torque and a few mpgs back.

Do you happen to have the measurement of the highest part of the truck with the 2 inch lift and 245's? Im trying to determine whether it will fit in the garage or not.

Running 2 rovers, 1 with 245/75 and one with 265/75, I will say when it comes time for tires, I will not be getting 265/75 again. Not if you're least worried about hp and mpg.
They dont come in a load range "e", only "d", but they have them tires in a 265/70. Same diameter as a 245/75, but a little wider.
With a lift, youre biggest worry rubbing is steering. You will have to adjust you're steering stops if you go with a 265/75 or 70

You can make it in your garage with 265's it will be close. Like 1" but mine fits. I do have to prop the garage door up a little. But only work on the rover in the garage in winter.
I still had good snappy performance with the 245's on. I also have Magnecore wires, K&N cold air intake, Always use shell V-Power and keep my throttle body flapper clean.

That sounds good! So I have been really debating on what lift to get and was going to go with the Terrafirma 2" complete kit but then saw I could get OME medium duty springs and terrafirma all terrain shocks for $60 less. Is there any disadvantage to this?! It seems like a great set up and deal! BTW Treadwright Guard Dogs 245 75 16 in transit
