What is the normal coolant temperature and a few other questions.

I was thinking that about the clutch. Looking at the fan, I think it would self destruct if handling the proper power! This truck is my extra vehicle, so I'm OK with not using it until I get what is needed. I think I will try that Water Wetter anyhow though as I heard it mentioned a few times here. Couldn't hurt I suppose. I might take the entire thing off and bring it to the parts store to see if they have a fan that would work with the clutch. You never know!

Your local salavge yard might have a fan, and you might invest in a new clutch or Chevy conversion clutch. A new fan with your clutch will still be a "spinner'.
BTW Coach, it is my daughter's senior year, the football team is unbeaten, and she got to sing the National Anthem at the final game of the regular season last week. After the playoffs, which we hope will lead to the Georgia Dome again, I'll miss high school football. The D1 is her ride.

Nice Buzz! Very cool! I'm not doing anything as glamorous as high school football, but arguably the tougher job of trying to keep the attention of 15 seven year old boys on the field. Regardless, it is very competitive and a blast! Oh, and 30 K-2 boys in the wrestling room. I'll take my spring little league team back please :-)
Not much luck in finding a fan right now. Found a couple decent clutches that look to be the same price as the Chevy one really, but should not require modding the fan itself. Any idea on these brands for them?
This one from Summit which says it is the Heavy Duty one (I think mentioned in another post):

If I do the new fan from Atlantic British it is $88.50 shipped, and the new clutch is $63.69 shipped, so in all I'm thinking $152.19 to my door isn't a bad deal with no modding involved. I'm think I will buy both tonight and we will see what happens!

For the fan clutch I use an air hammer with an attachment that fits on the large nut. One press of the trigger and the nut is loose.
And not to go against others trials and tribulations, but I always try to use factory parts...grant it, I will use a aftermarket part that is made for my car, but I wont take a part off a chevy to use on a bmw, unless of course it is in fact the exact same part...
Is the radiator an exact replacement? The center is the core, the core is made up of rows. How many rows does it have?
I have seen people swap out a 4 row with a 2 row and have all kinds of issues...(not rover, other makes) tank sizes could be an issue, flow, or some passages could be blocked with dexcool sludge near the sending unit.
Weight of oil, oil flow, the faulty oil pump can all increase temps. Do you have a brush guard with lights on the front? Any minor restriction could be the blame...
Just brain storming...
What town are you located in NJ?
