Lower frontof the engine on the passenger side. Easy access by sliding under the front of the truck.

There is no engine cover to remove. Is your truck under warranty, aren't they doing your services?
I would suggest you send a little time crawling around under your truck so you will have a better idea what is going on.
Has the 30K service been done?

It is under warrany, both the 30K and 45K maintenances have been done. And good point, I should crawl around my truck to get to know it better. Previously I was told not to worry about it since it is under warranty, but it obviously would be good to know what things are. So, back to a question I posted a few months ago.

What are some good manuals I should get to show me what I'm looking at when I'm crawling around my truck? My warranty is up in June and will begin maintaining it then.

thanks guys.

The RAVE service manual seems to be the way to go. Here's where I got mine:

http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/820709

There are cheaper ones on ebay, but 20 bucks for an instant manual seemed convenient enough.

Good luck with it.

Best regards,

You can get the RAVE cd free from Rover Renovations. www.rover-renovations.com

The oil should be changed every 3000 miles or so, so what your doing is great.
Also you might consider looking into an extended warranty if you are going to be keeping this for awhile. They are a little pricey but worth every penny.

I found the RAVE software, I got the downloadable version and am having the CD sent as well. It looks fantastic. Like I said earlier, I'm trying to educate myself so I can follow other post a little better. Thanks for all the help.

Also, I've read that when you install a filter you want to seat if firmly by hand, not with a filter wrench, true?

--thanks again all.

great info as always!
