will not engage in PARK
I am extremely green. With that being said, I picked up a 03D2 a couple of weeks ago and have been slowly understanding how much work I have to do. What I am unable to locate is a thread or video explaining the aforementioned problem. Further details:
Putting it into any other gear it works and acts as it should and when it is in PARK it allows me to remove the keys, so in that regard the vehicle acknowledges that the vehicle is in PARK. However, if I release the foot brake or I do not have the parking brake pulled up, it will start rolling. It, in that sense, acts as if it is in neutral. I have not heard anything, felt anything, or smelt anything when ever I "shift" it into PARK.
Thanks

I have never delved into my transmission but I'd say you have one of two problems. The selector cable is out of adjustment (driver side of transmission). . This should be easy to check. Just see if you can manually move the part that the cable goes to to get into Park. Under the truck. The other is the mechanism or pin that immobilizes the transmission. That's beyond my knowledge.

When you pull the **** off (pull up, hard) and carefully pull up the gear selector face you will see a little rod that keeps you from pulling it out of park until you hit the brake. It is a "feature" that leaves people stranded sometimes. Once you see it, you'll see how you can push it with a finger.

I'm sure it goes without saying but be careful that your face is not above where you are pulling; I've seen people pull the **** off and pop themselves in the mouth! Not judging your intelligence at all, just laughed a bit when I read this comment from Charlie_V
