Default 122000 mile motor questions

Hello.....have some questions about a 122000 miles on a motor that I am looking to buy. This is a 1997 LR Disco SD7, the motor started up right away, no smoke, but had a lifter ticking....then cleared up....is this a sign that I will need to replaced cam and lifters? Next, Motor seems to run fine, there is gunk underneath the motor and timing cover, is this a front seal item or what?
The oil in the motor smells good and is gold in color....nice looking oil. Power Steering oil is nice color and the anit-freeze in green.

Anything else that you can tell me to watch out for.......

The woman is asking $2500 for the vehilce and am curious if it is worth it.

Thanks in advance.

Default RE: 122000 mile motor questions

Mileage is OK for a 97, noise, somewhat normal but usually correctable.
Send me your tele number and I will be glad to answer any questions.
