Default Coolant / Head Gasket / thermostat

my 04 HSE hit the same issue so many others have before me.
At 70,000 kms the car started overheating, I was losing coolant and within 1 week I brought it to my mechanic. I was given two options 1- replace the engine with a used one for about $4,000 or change the head gasket, the thermostat and the timing belt... for about $3,000.
I rolled the dice and chose the latter.

Should I assume the engine is still at risk with all of these changes or should the car now be relatively worry free for at least a little while?

I am wondering whether I should sell it now...in the summer.... or keep it.

Please advise.

thanks
