Unhappy freelander v6 2001, starter problem

Hi

I am new to site and having become as fed up of my recently purchased car and of the local car specialists! decided to paste my fault here incase any fellow Landy drivers may have a solution.
The car will start fine most days but like this morning i turned the ignition on, all the lights came on the dash but i had to do this ten times before it would start... aah the battery you think, having had a new battery recently i do not think it is that.
I recently parked the car for 2 weeks whilst on holiday and when I came back it started first time. I am sure there is a simple reason but we cannot seem to find it.
I have taken the car on a dodgy wont start first time morning to the garage and the code reader suggests that it is the battery.
However the battery has now been checked as have all fuses and all contacts cleaned up etc... any ideas would be appreciated.
i am convinced that whatever it is is getting worse and that something is on its way out but what? please help

Madmaddy
