Default Just got a 2002 Freelander, wife want it to be DIESEL

Got the Freelander in exchange for some labor because the timing belt broke. Wife wants me to put a diesel in it like I did with my 1992 Dodge Caravan http://www.vwdiesel.net/forum/index.php?topic=15633.0
I see its about the only Land Rover that is NOT a real off-roader. I have a Rubicon Jeep with air lockers front and rear, so I'll be changing things... Or should I just sell all the parts and find something more suited ?

Sorry Dave I need to move your thread to the correct section.

If you can do it go for it man.
Freelanders get decent MPG anyway but with a diesel it would be awesome.

the only thing that can fit in there we in the dealership postulate is a escape engine and transmission assembly. Thats about all.

and if you want a lr diesel then prepare to spend big bucks converting it.

Sounds like a pricey thing to do... hopefully it'll be worth it..
