So, I'm going to change spark plugs in my Freelander yesterday, and the funniest thing happens: the plug socket won't fit into the recess in the head to remove the plugs.
"No worries", I thought, "I'll grab my specialist thin-walled socket set and just...". Uh, no, I won't; too big still.
So, off to Sears and the Craftsmen section, and, with said thin-walled socket in hand, proceed to ask the young man behind the counter for any socket he may have with a smaller outer diameter in the appropriate size. Socket purchased, I returned to the shop today to remove the spark plugs with my newly acquired tool and... yeah, still too big.
What gives, people? I can keep a 2 acre job site full of trucks, trailers, tractors, Bobcats, excavators, mowers, blowers, weed whips, etc. running at near flawless efficiency, and I can't change plugs in a Freelander? Here I was, thinking removing the coils from the back three cylinders would be the tricky part of the job!
So tell me, please, that there is a specific plug tool, and where I may purchase said tool from.

No special tool, just the one asking the question; turns out I had misplaced the 16mm socket with the 13/16" one in both sets! Humble pie, hot and tasty! D'oh!!!
