2000 Disco II hood release & air suspension
I have a "99 Disco II.The hood release latch has broke, exposing the wires inside. I have used the wires to attach vice grips and pull to release the hood. Well now the wires are shot and i cant open the hood, any suggestions on how to get my hood popped NOW without going and getting a whole new release installed... i need to add oil
also my air ride suspension is shot. it pumps up some times but usually as i am cruising down the road it deflates causing me to look like i am now cruising down the road somewhere in east LA with my lowride discobouncing like a kangaroo. I need to know is just better to go ahead and do without the air ride replacemntand change over to springs. which is closer to a DYIer and cost less.

RE: 2000 Disco II hood release & air suspension
For your hood you're going to need to replace the cable. I'm not sure how hard it is, but atlantic british has the replacement pretty cheap.
For your suspension I'd recommend just converting it to coils and being done with it. It's about the same price to put in new bags now, but those will fail too eventually so you'll need to keep replacing them, so I feel like coils is a better route.
