Default 2001 Dicovery bearing noise?

My '01 DII has a noise (kind of a rubbing sound) coming from the driver's side while driving. I cannot tell if it's coming from the front or rear. Sounds like in between sometimes. Is there some other bearing that might be going bad other than the wheels on the driver's side?

Sometimes it helps to locate a long brick wall that you can drive by at slow speed, in a quiet area, with windows down.

Sometimes you can have someone drive the car past you several times.

Sometimes you can put car on a lift or on jackstands and run it at slow speed, turn wheels, etc.

Sometimes you can slip the car into "N" and coast to rule out some engine parts.

If a "ticking" sound might be flex plate between tranny and engine.

Sometimes it is brake pads or calipers that make stange noises, usually a screech when applied. Could be a dust shield bent by contact with something.

There are lots of things that you need to narrow it down from.

Have your front driveshaft inspected for play.
If it breaks it WILL destroy your transmission.
