Default Help!!2001 Disco Just shut down while on Freeway

Does anyone have any ideas as my mechanic cant figure out the problem- The Disco simply shut down while i was driving, it wasnt electrical as it turned over fine when i was on the side of the road, but wouldnt start. After about 25 minutes, it started up and drove fine for another 20 minutes then shut down again as if it ran out of gas. Its not the fuel pump and there are no codes goin off- one idea was a crank sensor overheating and causing it to shut down? as once it cools, it starts back up again...
Any help would very much be appreciated!
Thank you!

Crank Shaft Position Sensor is suspect, these are the classic symptoms. See attached, for you and mechanic, full RAVE tech manual download for free below. Don't know if you can pour cold beer on it and limp home....
