Default Obd-ii

Does anyone recommend a odd ii scanner? I just recently purchased '99 land rover Callahan edition. I need to confirm the cruise control is an electrical issue and not one of the more common problems. Checked the vacuum lines and they appear to be fine. Also told the abs module maybe going would like to check that as well with a scanner. Thanks for any help!

To work with ABS system you need a specialized scanner, not the garden variety code readers. Other than that, an ultra Gauge will scanner and display all kinds of info, lots of posts on them, and you can get scanners that attach to lap top, smart phone, or just hold in your hand. You want one that will read live data , not just stored codes.

You should also take advantage of the free download of the full set of factory manuals for your truck, caled the RAVE, in link below.

Nothing other than the dealer computer will talk to the cruise or the ABS.

I started the whole Ultra-Gauge thing and I highly recommend one, its $80 and it reads live data as well as trouble codes and resets trouble codes.

Well, in between the $30K test book, and the garden variety scanner like my $120 one, there are some options, like the Hawkeye. see Hawkeye Diagnostic Tool for Land Rovers - D.A.P.
