Since purchasing my Rover, I’ve had instances where the radio will fade in and out. It happens on all stations and speed has nothing to do with it. The service dept told me that I have to turn the HD setting off. If I do that then I no longer receive the song and artist info. For a 2011 this seems very strange to me that I can’t have the HD on. I live in a highly populated area and have many choices for HD.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Sounds like you have 2 choices, either you can listen to the radio or you can know what song is playing.
Its not Land Rovers fault that HD radio is not fool proof, it is what it is.
Just like a cell phone, sometimes you have 4 bars other times you have non.
Thats the way it is with anything digital, either it works or it doesn't, unlike analog (non HD radio) which will come in as long as you are in range.
You are not old enough to remember using rabbit ears on the TV are you?
The Wheel of Fortune might have been fuzzy, but you could still watch it.
Now you have Dish Network and the picture is crystal clear until it snows, then HBO wont come in at all.
HD radio is the same way, either it works or it doesn't.
Maybe you’re right and I only have the 2 choices but it doesn’t seem/feel right. I don’t mean to be winey but it just seems to me that for as much as this dream vehicle costs, I should be able to have interference free radio AND be able to see what song is playing. Heck, a Ford can do that!
I should state at I do have the HD feature on but I have not programmed any HD stations yet.
PS- I do remember the rabbit ears. J
PSS- I also found out that I don’t have a compass. Weird.
you should be able to do RBDS function to get the name of the station and the artist.
To program the radio stations go to FMA first and then press radio station store and it will store all the stations it can pick up.
