Question rough idle and loss of power

1989 range rover 3.5ltr v8 EFI
have problem with my rangie when in gear i have no power in acceleration and idle is rough which makes the whole car shake. when accelerating strong petrol vapour comes from the car. i have checked plugs, leads, dizzy, coil,and alternator.
this problem has got me puzzled.......

PLEASE FEEL FREE IF YOU MAY HAVE ANY SUGESTIONS OR POSSIBLE REMIDEES..

How long have you owed the truck?
Did you work on it recently?
This sounds like some plug wires are on the wrong cylinders.

thanks for your reply and to answer your question i have owned the truck for two years and for the plug leads when they get changed they always get numbered before removel and refit.

Ok, then I would start by having the ignition timing set properly.
Then check the vacuum advance on the dizzy to make sure it is working properly and that the vacuum advance vacuum line is in good nick.
