Default Water in engine not starting disco

Hi

We had a terrible storm over my property yesterday. I had to go 20 kms down to my back gate to pick up the mail and went through 3 or four creeks. Thw worst one i went throught in 60 km/h an hour because it dident look more than 1 inch, was probily 4 inches. Water sprayed all ower and my discovery 1994 3.9L (the second gen disco made in end of 1994) the waterwall slowed it down to around 10 km/h.

It was still running out of the but i heard som bluddering noise specially on low revs. But still running. Drove like 5 km's more to my shed and it started to sound strange and almost stopped on low revs. Stopped it and started again, drove 500m to my garage at home and it wad not powerfull and not fireing on all cylinders. Stopped and did not start again.

Airfilter was wet and had som water in flowmeter hose. Did not get any amount of water out of spark chambers. Dryed for 1 day without sparkis in.

I have checked for spark and changed all sparkplugs. The are sparky outside engine.

1 week old fuelpump thatis still running. How do i check pressure in fuel line?
Its still fuel pumping if i press the valve in engine room.

No water in distributor (anymore was water).

Help. This is my only car and now im stuck on my farm 120 km from nearest town. Probily 330 km form nearest land rover mechanic.

What could i test and what could i change?

Help

Hi

It's turning over with no problems. How do i check compression. My idle air valve (on top of engine block with 4 cables) is sounding strange and seem to not move or is stuck when i tock it out. Can that make the engine not start?

Yes. You can clean it with solvent and the bore it fits into. Be gentle.

The fuel rail for injectors on D1s normally has a schrader (tire) valve on the passenger side. Expect 32-34 PSI when the pump runs. Pump only runs for a few seconds if truck does not start.

Doesn't the 94 have it's ECU on the r/f fender near the tire wall like the older models, if so I would start there, remove it, open it up and dry it out.

Unhook your battery, on the right fender is the ECU, it is common for it to leak and get water inside.
open it, dry it, seal it with silicone if you have some, let it dry and put it back.

Ok

I've tried to change the ignition coil to my old one. But its still sparking and i have tried a lot of ignition spark problems. How does the ecu look like. Are you sure i got one in my car and are you sure its there? It is igniting a little bit and if i push the throttle down its getting harder to turn over. But still not starting.

All fuel injected engines have a computer.
it is on the right front fender, looking from inside the truck, right front.
It is a black box with a wire harness coming out of it, it is infront of the washer bottle.

Hmm how many wires should go to the computer. All injectorcables are going in to the cab throught the firewall. My washerbottle is on the left under the hood if you sit in the car. Cant really find anything that looks like a ecu, im a electrician so i now my wires but im not so familiar with discoverys set up. Its a hard nut to crack.

Update: tock the carb off and have made shure that i got no water, used pressure air to blow all out. Put my "baby" in the sun and all water should have been cleared now. Still no go.

My mail-man comes on fridays so my rescue if i need something is walking 20km on next friday then he can drive me 100km to town.

Here's a pix from the RAVE of an ECM under the dash on right side. Not for all engines. What country are you in? You have a carb in 1994 - 95????
