Sat down this weekend and built a set of headers for my disco, 1 5/8 primarys 4 into 1, thru collector into 2.5" pipe, then 2 into 1 again staying with the 2.5" pipe, got muffler 3 chamber "flowmaster copy" then 2.5" out the back. I have a discovery chassis, motor gearbox and diffs sitting around , so figured it would be easiest to build the exhaust with out having to work around the body and to minimise the time required to lie under it can get covered in crap, it has taken two full days to construct the headers , cross pipe, mount muffler and get the pipe to just coming out of the muffler to a flange, am going to be using a bandsaw to cut the last of the exhaust donuts 2.5" to get around and under the back diff chassis area, am setting the pipe out side the chassis in such a way that if required i can mount a resonator or second muffler just incase it is to noisy
Cheers
Pedro

got headers fitted and the rest of the system, fired it up and it sounds nice, quiet when crusing and at low speed, but gets a real bark when revving hard, building on the other chassis saved loads of grief, as rover does not seem to use innovation, between models, it bolted striaght up.
to fit them the RH side had to drop a shock off and raise the chassis to clear the diff head, LH side required unbolting a engine mount and lift it up, once headers were in the rest just fitted,
