checking the pollen filter on LR2

Does anyone know how to get to the pollen filter and if you need any special tools to access it? I have 31000 miles on my LR2 and I suspect that the dealer may not have put in a new filter. thanks

not easy to tell if its new, should have been replaced twice so far... however, its under the glovebox, goes in towards the center console verticaly, has a black almost grid like plastice cover, clips are towards the firewall
