Default LR2 Scheduled Services

I have my LR2 for 3 months (5500 kms)now and I have recieved in the mail a letter from my dealer indicating that it is due for a scheduled service for a lube oil filter. I was looking in the service manual that came with the car and it indicated that scheduled services should be preformed every 6 months or 12000 kms. Should I be going in for this service or wait 3 more months?

why not to go? It is a chance to ask questions and have your car washed as well
It is even more importantto do,if you have not taken it for the first month check.

Take advantage of the free services and make sure you change the oil every 3000 miles if using regular oil or 5000 miles if using a synthetic.

Why do you say 3000/5000? The book calls for an oil change every 7500 miles.

As a retired service manager I can tell you all manufactures stretch out their oil changes, to make the service costs lower, but if you want to keep this vehicle, do the changes more frequently. Nearly all Disco and classic owners have been doing it this way to minimize repairs.

As a new LR2 owner, my understanding is that only the services on 6 month/12000km intervals are covered as a 'complimentary' or free service. If it is indeed free, then indeed why not go? However, if as in my case, your use of the vehicle is light-duty, why pay for an extra service every 3 months if 6 months is the recommended interval? However, my view is a bit tainted as I've had bad luck with vehicle repairs in the past and have thus bought the extended warranty such that I won't be paying for any repairs for 7 years and plan to upgrade to a new vehicle before that amount of time has elapsed. Just my two bits....
