Default Reduced Engine Perf., etc.

I have a 2008 LR2 that has never given me serious problems but today it starts popping up with DSC fault, reduced engine performance, transmission fault, etc. It shut down and I can't drive it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? I have a local mechanic here that can look at it because the dealership is about an hour away.

Default reduced engine perf

My 2008 LR2 had exactly the same problems and registered the same error messages. It was the battery, I had it jumped, tried to get it to charge, but it wouldn't hold the charge. If you are still under warranty (48k I believe) your dealer should replace it for free. Judging from what you listed, I'd say that's your issue too.

Good luck,

Tracy

Thanks so much! I did change out the battery but my battery light remains on. My husband said I may just need to run the vehicle a while to charge up the battery. I'm actively looking for an alternator right now. Can anybody give input? My battery light came on just a couple of minutes after I put the new battery in.

need to pull the upper intake and replace the alternator. Sorry its a new car and parts arent aftermarket just yet.

But you might be able to go with a volvo one that is the same year with the same engine. You might save some but not much.
