Advice and pointers on 2.7tdv6 rebuild
Hi All,
So was getting on fine with my 2008 D3 until a couple of weeks ago! Whilst at around 60mph a loud tapping noise was heard, put her in neutral and coasted to a stop. She was recovered to a garage where after a week I was presented with the car still as it was except with new cam belt kit had been fitted and a bill of over £600 and a report, it needed a new engine as valve fault??? Took it some where else who after 10 mins said big end bearings, needs new engine!! Lost faith in garages so have found a doner engine Now setting about preparation for my first engine rebuild!!! This leads on to the question, any tips or pointers for this little project if you can't find someone you trust, trust yourself! !
I do have an engineering back ground so not completely in the dark on principles just tips never go a miss.
Many thanks in advance
Rich
