Default Biggest and Best Off Road Tires for LR3

What are the largest size and best performing off-road/all-terrain tires that will fit on the LR3 stock 18in rims without rubbing?

I am leaning toward the BF A/Ts but, also am considering the General Grabber A/Ts... what do you guys run? What is the most popular?

You willing to run suspension extension rods all the time?

I will if it doesn't affect the handling, i.e., going around sharp turns and taking highway exits at high rates of speeds...

I recommend not exceeding 32 inches. I run 275-65-18 and they fit well with the rod lift. You can go about a half inch taller but will have some rubbing. The LR3 can fit a larger tire size than the LR4 by about 1/2 inch. I have a tire size chart here:http://johnsonrods.com

That looks sweet.

Is that lift just the Johnson Rods in the link?

I was planning on Mickey Thompson ATZ 265/65/18. Will they fit without rubbing?

Yes...even with Johnson Rods, there will be some rubbing under severe compression or at access height, as they are larger in diameter than my Cooper Zeons which are 285x60x18

The 265-65-18 will have some rub when off road. I do recommend the rods for that size tire as I think you are better off not compressing the tire into the well and lets face it... It's way more fun to have the extra clearance. There are guys that run the 31.5 inch tire without rods. Just be careful. The other reason I like the rods with that size tire is that the wheel well looks too full without it. http://johnsonrods.com
The lift on my vehicle is just the rods - no spacers.

275/65/8 is about the max with the lift, but if you ever have an air
Suspension fault it will go into limp mode and drop down and you can't move. Bottomed out in wheel well.

265/65/18 and 285/60/18 are your best bet
