I've just purchased a IID BT tool at a cost of 336 GBP + VAT = 410 GBP or 710 US for my suspension issues. I spoke with the dealers and they said it was the only one out of the hawkeye and nanocom that would allow you to flash the suspension ECU (clearly i am taking their word for it in this instance though)

But the nanocom most certainly will update the suspension ecu. I've done it.

Yes, you can definitely reprogram ECUs (not just the suspension) via the Nanocom tool. It doesn't appear that you can with the Hawkeye based on the information on their website, but if anybody has any firsthand experience, then please chime in. The nanocom looks very nice (though I've never used it), but my biggest problem with the Hawkeye is that it looks like they try to "nickel and dime you". You have to buy a different cable and pay more money to unlock access to different ECUs on your car? That's what it seems like and I certainly wouldn't want to deal with that... especially when I could get full access from either the IID tool or Nanocom for the same price as the base Hawkeye.

We sell both the standard IID tool ($449) or the BT compatible ($768)
They both run the same programs. The standard is operable through the control buttons on your steering wheel and the programs screen in the gauge cluster. The BT version is more user friendly with their on-screen interface, but both devices do the same thing.
GAP's website is actually pretty conclusive with what their tool can and cannot provide as well. You just have to enter your vehicle and the tool you are looking to use and it tells you exactly it's limits. They are also constantly updating the IID's capabilities.
Hope this helps,
Erik

Correct. You can plug your IID tool in directly with this cable (DA6399, $10) and download any updates directly from GAP.
