Front End/Suspension Noise

Front End/Suspension Noise
The front end is "clunking" over sharp edged bumps. I read somewhere here that the control arm bushings in the front are a weak link. My attempts to search here have yielded little. Any help with respect to this (solutions, parts sources etc.)would be much appreciated. The vehicle has 73K on it.

RE: Front End/Suspension Noise
dg, I have the same problem with my 70k mile LR3. Going slow over square edge bums, entering driveways, and going over speed bumps I get a popping/clunking noise in the front end. It has a "sweet spot" because if I hit the same bump a few miles an hour faster or really slow it doesn't do it.I tried having my wife drive up and down the driveway while I stood outside and listened but I couldn't pin point where it's coming from. My guessis one of the control arms or sway-barbushings. While inspecting the underside of my truck I noticed that on the right hand side the whole lower control arm has been replaced. Possibly due to an accident? I'm pretty sure the noise is coming from the drivers side though.
