Default Heated Seat Smoking!

2005 LR3

My wife said yesterday the driver side heated seat felt hotter than normal. Today several minutes after turning on the heated seat she smelt a burning smell and looked down and the seat had smoke coming out of the holes in the leather.

Where do I start???

1. Seat heater defective. Remove fuse for same. There is no repair, only replace inside the seat, or whole seat from a wrecked truck. Can set whole truck on fire in minutes if it gets going. See owners manual for fuse involved. There is a heated seat thermostat, which could be bad, not sure if that is a dealer repair item or still swap whole seat.
