Default LR3 aftermarket control arm bushings.

My front lower control arm bushings are worn out....so i cant get a propper alignment until they are replaced... Looking at the factory control arm price of $600 seems like the bushings suck for that price....poor design. Anyone here take a set of used control arms and make new bushings out of high density polyurethane? Thinking about turning out some on a lathe and putting them in a set of control arms... if i recall correctly its just a rubber ball bushing with a metal insert.. couldnt I replace that with a cylenderical poly bushing with a metal insert?... slight interference fit and press everything together?

I am aware that there will prob be more vibration and noise but i would rather not have junk bushings in there.... What says LR3 forum?

TIA

-Anthony
