Default LR3 Brake Lights

Hello,

All of the brake lights are out on my '08 LR3, except for the one at the top center. I can look through the lenses and it appears that the filaments are intact.

It seems very odd that I would lose all of them at the same time. The right and left are out, but the center top functions (ruling out the switch). The side markers, running lights and center brake light still function. The fuse seems fine.

Any suggestions on where to look first. I thought fuse, but no luck. Does one bad bulb take out both sides? Any insights would be appreciated. Next step is to pull the bulbs and check for continuity. What would cause both sides to go at the same time?

Thanks!!

Every good mechanic knows to check the simple stuff first.

Both bulbs were bad. Seems odd they would both go at the same time. No obvious problems with the filaments, but no continuity. Replaced both and good to go!
