Need tire recommendations for lr3 that is seldom offroad other than grass or beach (which tire variation makes minimal difference) and is mostly driven on asphalt and highway. we still want offroad capability and good snow response, however don't need rock climbing tires. any recos? been told Michelins but wonder if they are too much street and will make truck look/ perform like a car.

There are many good choices but if you want both on road and off road then I would recommend an AT tire. I think the Good Year Silent Armor AT is an excellent choice.

I'm looking to go to 265/55/18s from the stock 255s. I don't want a lift or anything, just figured I could use a wider base. I've heard good things about the silent armours as well. I'm basically in need of a good tire with minimal road noise, good in snow and rain, and can be taken off road if necessary. I was also looking at the Nitto Terra Grapplers, BF GoodrichLong Trail T/A, Michelin Latitudes or the Silent Armours. Are these all decent solutions?

I just changed my OEM's at 30,000k with Firestone Destination ST's. Have over 3,000k on them already and couldn't be happier! Immediate reduction in road noise and steering was much easier. The difference was noticeable once I pressed on the gas to leave the station. It's an all season tire and so far has handled very well in the rainas well. Waiting for the snow to drop in a couple of months to see how they fare but I am sure there won't be a problem.

The tread design is a plus!
