I'm new to the forum. I have a 2006 LR3 SE. The stock tires are 255/60/18. I was wondering if I can install 265/60/18 tires. There are a lot more choices in the 265 size than there is in 255. The difference is less than 1/2 inch width. The dealer and the tire merchants didn't give me a firm answer as to whether I can or can't do it. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Does anybody have these Johnson Rods on there LR3? Just wondering how they like them? Rougher ride I'm assuming
Actually the ride is very good with little noticeable difference. Most users keep them on full time as they like the extra clearance and ability to use a larger tire. I run the Good Year MTR 275-65-18 (32 inch) and they are fantastic. Many choices in tires: LR3 Lift Kit - Johnson Rods - Range Rover Sport Lift Kit
WE have gone through a lot of tires on our 06 SE. Came with Goodyears (lasted 18k miles), put on Pirelli Scorpions (lasted ~22k but were horrible in the snow) then came to Kumho tires....and they're at 30k, probably 37k when they hit the tread bars and they are AWESOME in the snow.
Just my $.02.

I love the Johnson Rods, although I don't run them all the time. Once you figure it out, it only takes about 5-7 minutes to switch them out before going off road. They were a lifesaver last spring in Moab, and they don't affect the ride, per se.
