Default Towing capacity

I have a 2006 LR3 SE 4.4L with the quick release hitch.
I have a 28ft travel trailer that weighs 5820 dry and a tongue weight of 645lb.

The quick release hitch is only rated at 550lb tongue weight.

I have a weight distribution hitch with sway bar that weighs around 50 lbs itself.

I currently tow the trailer with my Expedition but we are looking to trade it in on something smaller. That will only leave me with the LR3 to tow the trailer.

Is this going to be an issue?????

It is rated up to 7500lbs but I would not be comfortable with reaching those levels, I tow a bass boat that is 4,000+ lbs with ease, and will tow extended periods of time, ~6 hour trips.

How long are you towing it for? I would think the LR3 would handle it, but what is the realistic weight, you quote the dry weight but do you have other stuff in it when trailering? Also if you search across the forums there is a trailering thread with people towing with well over 6k lbs with no issues.

I usually travel 1-2 hrs away. I am mostly concerned about the tongue weight. But I have a weight distribution system so I think I'll be fine.

PLEASE check the owners manual about the weights. On earlier models it said weight distributing hitches were not advised.

This from the RAVE owners manual for a D2:

An equalizing or other form of weight
distributing hitch should NOT be used with your
vehicle

Also, the book for a D2 says 550 pounds max tongue weight.

Please consult owners manual, it could save you from an accident, rollover, or hostile attorney. If you want to ignore the book, check with your insurance agent to see if you will be covered, in some states you might not. You also could be cited in some states.
