Default Warning light

Warning light-image.jpeg does anyone know what a red light of a suv with 3 arrows pointed under it means? It is located in the little circle to the lift of the information screen on the dash.

Isn't that the fuel burning heater? You should never see it on a NA car unless you've done something with the instrument cluster software.

Yeah we are not supposed to have that. You may have flashed a firmware that is for non-NAS vehicles. If you actually have the heater (I believe only the TDV6 was fitted with the wabasto FBH), check the fuse box in the engine bay for the same symbol. You might be able to make the warning light go away by fitting a fuse in that slot.

I have the slot but not the FBH nor a fuse fitted.

Yeah, that will do it. Probably comes on with your lights now, right? The newer firmware is supposed to be for cars that have a "lights on indicator" in that spot... But on your car, there's a fuel burning heater inductor that lights instead.

I believe 05-06 had the "Auxiliary Heater" light 07 and on had the headlight light

little heater that siphons off diesel fuel to warm engine coolant for better cold start running and to immediately turn on cabin heaters for comfort.

Ahhhh....that sounds cool for Diesels in cold climates. Like a built-in block heater.

I actually added a block heater months before a trip to the Yukon Territory. Works really well.

yeah before I replaced the thermostat in mine I was really wishing I had one. It took forever to warm up the engine in near-freezing or below-freezing weather.

How hard is it to install a block heater-(not to get off track)?
