2010 LR4 5.0L V8 Power Window Switch
Hello,
I need to replace the window switch part on the drivers side. can you simply use a flat head screw driver and lift the part out to accesss and replace it? The dealer would like $230 to do it but I found the part on line for $54. is it easy for a regular guy to do?
Thank you to all you maters tecs that keep us off roading !!!

I found this at another LR blog. I did not use the "screwdriver trick". I bought plastic stereo/trim removal tools from autozone. Worked alot better and safer for your trim.
1. Undo the 2 screws at the bottom which go through the drink holder.
2. Uncover the screw found behind the plastic cap where the lock lever is positioned and undo the screw.
3. The handle has 4 screws hidden which you must undo. Carefully push a flat blade screw driver into the 2 square holes found under the handle to let you lift the top part of the plastic cover off the handle. Be careful not to force it and then you will need to carefully unclip the catches holding the top of the plastic handle on. Undo the 4 screws.
4. Get yourself a wide flat blade screw driver and cover the blade with a rag and then gently work it between the door trim and the door. Start at the bottom until you get the hang of levering the trim to pop the plastic clips out of the door. Be gently with your levering. Work up both sides.
5. Pull the top of the tweeter housing to pop off the plastic stud found at the top of this housing. The plastic triangular housing is fixed to the door trim so don't try pulling it off !!!
6. Where the trim runs along the window pull the trim off the metal clips. Use a bit of force.
7. The cable running to the door lock can unclip from the lever attached to the door trim.
8. The window switch can be lifted out and unplugged with the trim in place.
9. Unplug all of the cables and the trim is ready to lift off.
Good Luck. Just be patient.

I know that I am way late to the party, but I just changed out the switch on my 2011 LR4 HSE Lux. The replacement part was ±$50. I took a flat head screwdriver, gently pried up the end of the switch trim.... came right up. Unplugged the switch, and replaced it. Pressed it back into place. Took 2 minutes.
