Links to Peterson's 2011 4x4 of the Year contest. The LR4 and other competitors run bad off-road tires but otherwise the Rover comes out on top and you can see why. As the editor claims, this is the best of what's new... not the best of what's out there. I would agree in some areas. Some of these serve very different functions for very different lifestyles. But if you took the best of all time you would open yourself up to every guy that ever built anything up in his garage.
