new here with some questions
i currently don't own a rover but I'm in the market, wanting to buy around late spring and I'm wanting a lr3/lr4. little back story i currently have a single cab f450 that i uses as a DD, i farm for a living, thats why i have such a big truck. but I'm wanting a rover to drive to take my kids to the sitter every day and two car seats don't fit in a regular cab pickup. my grandfather-in-law has his auto dealer license and I'm wanting to buy from an auction. what do i need to look for when buying in my scenario, also I'm looking for around ~100k miles, i will do my own service and I'm not afraid to tear things apart. I've done all kinds of searching on reliability and all any one will say is "I bought new and have 2k miles and no problems!!" any words of wisdom is appreciated! thanks in advance!

Just check the auction cars very close. Drive them if possible. Any service lights, can be problems. Maybe if a service record comes with them. Check everything like you would anything else. On startup there is a diagnostics showing of lights on dash, if none of these are lit, good. 100K would be a time of complete fluid service throughout vehicle, none are cheap and specific fluids are required. Plenty of part sources on-line and rockauto for under dealer prices. Help is on this forum. Good Luck. I started with a 96 D1 to a 96 P38 and currently an LR4.

I already figured on replacing all fluids and now lower control arms if it needed it or not. A 2010 with 100k just sold at auction in Virginia with a traction fault otherwise appeared clean. I wished I could have seen what it sold for but I was busy and didn't get to see it sell. Would I need to avoid cars like that or possible just a simple sensor would fix it
