I drive a lot for work and as anyone who has a 2000 Disco (probably all Discos) knows, the front seats are not the most comfortable for hours of highway driving.
I'm wondering if anyone has replaced their front seat(s) with something more comfortable.
How difficult was it?
How expensive was it?
How is the new seat working out?
What about the off-road performance?
Agreed. I think the seats in my Disco are far more comfortable than the seats in my wife's Accord EX of the same year. It took a while to get the height, tilt, backrest tilt, and lumbar pressure to my liking, but now it's like driving while in the most comfortable recliner.

Maintenance: 60K service with BG fluids, front drive shaft rebuild, Denso iridium plugs, front O2 sensors, Akebono ceramics front and rear with new rotors, belt tensioner and idlers, brake fluid and coolant flushed every two years- regardless of miles
Upgrades: OEM brushguard and driving lights, 04 CDL, extended rear axle breather, DI wiper arms, heated seat kit, grey painted chalkboard headliner
Has anyone ever tried to LOWER them. I don't mean adjust them lower, I mean lower where they mount. I'm 6'4" and if they were just an inch or so lower I could see out the windshield better.

Seems to be pretty darn stock...
Kickintalus, I'm with you on that mate, the seats bite in to your legs after a short time. I have a 98 model disco, my 89 R/Rover base model has great seats in it, I'm thinking about swaping them but have'nt checked it out yet. The rangie did have 1" alloy blocks under the front seats when I get it, Have'nt look at the Disco yet.
Cheers Fella
I fixed my blown out drivers seat with nylon webbing. You can get it at any camping (REI) store. I used 1.5" wide webbing. Fastened with self-tapping sheet metal screws. The mesh under the seat torn along the seam where it fastened to the frame. You have to take the seat out, take the cover off of the bottom cushion and then its very easy. It ends up looking like an old school lawn chair the way it is woven.
Good Luck,
