Cool Land rover discovery 1995 se lift kit

Hi friends, I am new to this and am hoping to seek some support information on what I should do.

I own a 1995 V8 Auto Discovery SE that I would like to modify slightly and need some good cost effective advise.

I am interested in a lift kit and have been quoted $1500 for a 3" body lift others have suggested I go down the path of suspension lift kit up to 2.5".

Which option should I take?

Also, I am interested in the following accessories and question is should I? as others have said no as it is better I keep the vehicle standard. My concern however is clearance and being safe guarded when I go 4x4ing.
  • Rear & Front Diff Guards,
  • Rear & Front Diff breathers,
  • Snorkel,
  • Larger rims and tyres

Please if anyone can help as I am very inetersted in getting some work done.

I have a 98 Disco 1 and I ordered 3" Supsension Lift from Rovertym. I just got the shocks and springs. You really don't need the rest. If you and a buddy are at all mechanically inclined (I am not that much but have a friend who is) it can be done pretty cheap. I personally don't like body lifts, so that's the route I went. As long as you leave the sway bars conected you will notice a difference in the ride but not unbearable.

have you taken your truck off road as is? what type of off roading are you planning on doing? these trucks are pretty capable if you stick some good rubber under them.

Go to www.4x4wire.com/rover/disco/ome it gives you a complete description of how to replace front and rear springs. It looks pretty easy. Then go to www.toddcosuspensions.com/landrover.html, they have 2" and 3" springs for $339.95

I have a 1995 disco and i used coil spring increaser rings and the stock 235/70/16 tires for about a year until i put sum new shoes and coil springs on it. Seriously though, I'm with hilltopperz, give it a whirl before you spend the time & money on something that doesn't need it (with the exception to the snorkel).....
